Love Life in 2012

January 4th… A roaring fire, Inca lying fast asleep by my feet, and sipping my way through a steaming glass of our last delicious Winter Pimms. All is quiet after the mayhem of the festive season; the perfect time to reflect on the year past, and to look forward to what lies ahead for us in 2012.

So how to sum up 2011? Insanely busy… Inspiring… Creative… Rewarding… Varied… Full of love, fun and loads of laughter.

We have had the honour of winning the Perfect Wedding Magazine Photographer of the Year Award and the MPA Wessex Winner of The Mario Acerboni Award.

Our weddings have taken us across the country to some stunning venues. From Hampton Court Palace, Goodwood House, Allerton Castle, Wrotham Park, One Great George Street and Hedsor House to Stowe School, The Four Seasons Hampshire, Dartmouth House, Cliveden House, Mandarin Oriental, Claridges and The Chateau d’Estoublon in Provence.

So much of a wedding is about the people, and we have been so lucky to have some of the loveliest couples as our clients. The last 12 months have also provided us with the opportunity to continue working with some of the finest wedding industry experts in the country, and a huge thank you goes out to them all for their support in helping to make our job so rewarding and enjoyable. Special thanks go to Amanda Sherlock, Kelly from Bespoke Weddings, Tim Hanbury from Apollo Event ConsultantsSiobhan Craven-Robins, Spriggs Florist, Lester from No. 10 Weddings, Quintessentially Events, Euphoric Flowers, Marine from Boutique Wedding CompanyErika from Flutterfly Events, Seyi from Cedar Events, Martin Hill Photography and Damien Lovegrove.

Away from weddings, and the year has been jam-packed with both location and studio family and children’s shoots, a fabulous 3-day shoot at Goodwood Revival, more classic car photography for Ian, a VW campavan adventure along the Jurassic Coast, a 2-day classic car tour through the New Forest in an Austin Healey, an architectural shoot in Cornwall which gave us the perfect opportunity for some chill time in St. Ives. We’ve found more secret hideaway spots on our doorstep in the South Downs and I’ve continued to strive for perfection with my recipe for the perfect risotto (magic ingredients include port and marmalade!)

And so to 2012. We are very excited about the year ahead. It promises to take us back to some of our favourite venues including Highclere Castle and the Four Seasons in Hampshire, and will also be putting many new locations
on the map for us too, including Blenheim Palace, Ston Easton and Guernsey.

We are very excited to be involved in the Inspire 101 Wedding and Events Workshop next month where Pippa will be one of the industry expert speakers.

Having received many requests for training advice, we are going to be taking our first workshop in June in Yorkshire – more details to come soon.

But back to today, and for now, we would like to wish all our couples, clients and colleagues past and present the very happiest year ahead. We hope that 2012 is full of good health, fun, love, happiness and big smiley faces.
