Pippa is a very proud Scot and grew up by the sea in East Lothian. As a child she danced in the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, Edinburgh.
Pippa has travelled to many stunning locations around the world and has worked on every continent except South America. Assignments have included adventure racing in the Moroccan High Atlas Mountains and documenting a 4×4 adventure through the jungles of Borneo. She says she has never seen so many mosquitoes and leeches.
The pinnacle of her television career was winning a BAFTA for her work on the children’s factual documentary series, Michaela’s Wild Challenge. Pippa has many memories of her time on the series but most fondly remembers trekking through deep rainforest in Kalimantan to document a troop of orangutans never before captured on film. She was also a stunt double for Michaela Strachan in a hair raising micro-light flight, researching the migration of whale sharks along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
Pippa gained an advanced PADI scuba diving qualification, despite being attacked by a bull shark on her first ever dive. Ian is always amazed at how little air she uses, managing to stay underwater for twice as long as he can on the same amount of air. He thinks she’s a fish.
Despite all her years of experience, which have included photographing Nelson Mandella’s 90th Birthday Party in Hyde Park, Pippa’s favourite photographic assignment came in 2015 when she photographed a private event in Rajasthan, India. She instantly fell in love with the country and its people and can’t wait to return.
Pippa says that becoming a mum was the proudest day of her life and it’s not surprising that daughter, Poppy, is no stranger to the camera or travelling.
