Venice Photography on the iPhone and Instagram
PROJECT: PERSONAL TRAVEL SHOOT
PHOTOGRAPHERS: PIPPA & IAN
Last week we took time out before the wedding season kicks off. We spent a beautiful long weekend in Venice, a city Pippa has always wanted to visit.
As usual, Ian took the opportunity to set himself a small project. He decided to take all our photographs on his iPhone and process them in Instagram. There is a lot being said about Instagram at the moment. We’re big fans of it for our own personal photographs as a bit of fun. The output is only really good enough for on-screen viewing but we love creating a patchwork of memories like the below collection. A patchwork of 6×6 apertures works really well when printed 10″x10″ of fine art paper.
We’d love to hear your thoughts.
Highlights of the trip were our suite overlooking the Rialto Bridge, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, a Gondola ride, the Quadri Restaurant in St. Marks Square, a visit to the Elliot Erwitt exhibition at the Tre Oci Gallery, a sunset dinner at I Figli Delle Stelle and finally, tiramisu and margaritas on the Danieli Hotel Terrace.
If you haven’t been to Venice, maybe this will inspire you to go. It’s really a magical destination, especially for photographers, and of course it is incredibly romantic!
